We would like to address the continued delays in EU fulfillment for The Automata Initiative and the remastered editions of System Gateway and System Update 2021.
Firstly, we apologize for the continued delay, as well as the lack of updates about it. Communication with our printing partners has been slow, partly due to their closure earlier in August, and partly due to time zone differences and language barriers.
Production for all those products has begun. Nobody’s order has been lost, and you will receive a shipping confirmation when it has shipped.
However, this print run is very different from every other time we’ve worked with this printer before, both in terms of size and of complexity. Between The Automata Initiative, the remastered editions of System Gateway and System Update 2021, Parhelion, and Midnight Sun, and all the languages they have been translated into, they have to deal with 23 different unique products, and retailer orders opening at the same time means they also have to print many more copies.
As such, while production has started and is proceeding at a great pace, shipping has not yet begun.
We are in daily contact with their CEO and working hard together to help optimize the process and ensure that everyone gets their new cards as soon as possible. We will also be exploring ways to ensure such a delay never happens again.
We know we’ve tried the patience of our EU runners and sysops with these delays, and we apologize unreservedly. Direct EU sales and wholesale support represents a very large step up in the scale of our operations, and our small team of unpaid volunteers has been scrambling to keep up and solve these teething issues as they appeared.
As we’ve previously mentioned, you have the option of canceling your order for a full refund, and either availing yourselves of our free print-and-play PDFs (which can be found in the product page of each pack), or buying them from our print-on-demand partners at MakePlayingCards, who have just recently approved these packs. Links to these can also be found on each pack’s product page. (DriveThruCards is still pending approval.) A 10% discount coupon has been sent as an apology, whether you kept your preorder or not.
In the meantime, please be assured that you will receive a shipping confirmation as soon as your order leaves the warehouse. If you have any questions, please direct them to us rather than the printer.
A Note to UK retailers:
We are hearing that some of you are concerned that you haven’t heard back since you applied to join our retailer program. The creation of our UK store is waiting on Royal Mail approving our account. We cannot approve any retailers until this is resolved, which is why you have not yet received confirmation. Please be patient until our store is fully set up.
