Volunteer at the 2024 Netrunner World Championship

Once again, the Organized Play team is calling upon our unbelievable community of players for volunteers to help orchestrate the grandest event of the year: the Null Signal Games 2024 World Championship!

Worlds 2024 takes place in San Francisco, California, from October 18th to 20th at the Hyatt San Francisco Embarcadero Waterfront Hotel. Check out the venue details in our announcement article here.

Organizing an event for over 250 people is no small task, so the more volunteers we can gather, the smoother it will run for everyone! We aim to establish a comfortable schedule with manageable hours and breaks, ensuring everyone has time to rest and enjoy some free time over the three days of the event.

We are looking for:

Judges: We’re looking to build a well-rounded team of Judges and are seeking volunteers with a keen eye for detail to judge across all 3 days of the event. Under the Head Judge’s supervision, duties will be divided amongst the team to streamline the judging process and balance the workload. All levels of expertise and enthusiasm for Netrunner are welcome.

HQ/Data entry: We need volunteers to help with registration, manage participant information, and enter match results throughout all three days. Your contributions will be crucial to ensuring the event runs in a smooth and timely fashion.

Salespeople: We need a few volunteers to manage the Null Signal Games shop and handle sales for other community members during the main events. Tasks include customer assistance, inventory organization, sales transactions, and money handling.

Commentators: We encourage all community members interested in providing commentary for the stream during any of the three days to join us. Those in other volunteer roles who also wish to participate in commentating will be supported and accommodated.

Note for other streamers: If you are planning to run any kind of Worlds 2024 side-stream on your own channel, especially if it’s in a language other than English, let us know – we would love to promote you before and during the event!

Side Event Organizers: If you want to run a pod or other side event on one of the three days, please complete the Volunteer Form below. We’ll work with you to provide the support and the necessary tools to make it happen. We plan to set up a Worlds Side Event Discord channel to help people organize meet ups throughout the weekend.

Worlds 2024 Volunteers will be compensated in a few ways! Firstly, all volunteers will have their Worlds ticket paid for as a thank you for helping out. Secondly, we will once again be producing a special volunteer-exclusive alt-art card and playmat that all volunteers will receive. Finally, volunteers will also receive a stipend of up to $150/day toward food and lodging expenses as an additional thank you for their time spent helping us run the event!

We aim to respond to all applications by mid June, and will send out confirmed schedules to all volunteers by the week before the event at the latest.

If you’re interested in coming to San Francisco for the event, to play or volunteer, but you require some financial assistance, Run Together might be for you! Run Together is an initiative which crowdfunds community members’ travel and accommodation for Worlds. To apply for Run Together, please follow this link:

Please consider volunteering at Worlds 2024 if you are interested. Helping make the biggest event in the Netrunner calendar happen is a great feeling – and we can’t do it without you! Apply here, and hopefully we’ll see you in San Francisco in October!
