Runners! <3 <3
So funny story, I’ve been trying to get ahead and have lots of articles in the can ready for posting and wouldn’t you know it, the three I had lined up for tonight have all been put on hold for external reasons I can’t fix. Luckily, @IceColdJazz decided to drop some info in a public channel – so as this knowledge is out in the wild now, I can share it with you all! Plus we’ve got a little Q&A courtesy of some people (mostly troublemakers) on Stimslack, and finally a Communications survey.
The Spilled Beans
- Regional season will start early in May
- Worlds is our main priority for Europe this year, but we’re still looking into a European Championship at UK Games Expo
- Ashes-1 will be on sale in March
- It will be available as a “Pay What You Want” PDF, and as an orderable pack containing 3 copies of 65 cards.
Even if Euros doesn’t happen, non-NISEI people were talking about organising an event and it’s in Regional season so could be a good day of Netrunner!
The Survey
It’s been over six months since this show got on the road, so time for some feedback regarding our communication levels and potential new routes for info to get from us to you. Short and sweet little survey, won’t take you more than a couple of minutes.
The Questions
Before we start, let me just give a shout out to ZomB on Stimslack for asking the only sensible question – which we’ll save til last.
Q: If Gabe runs an empty HQ, who gives them the credits?
A: He takes them out of the petty cash
Q: When will there be a Taylor Swift card?
A: This is the future, TayTay has been dead for a long time so no card for her 🙁
Q: Is Ashes finally going to make Apex tier 1?
A1: Apex always was tier 1, y’all were just too scared to admit it
A2: The set is called Ashes, not “65 cards specifically designed for Apex”… which even then might not cut it
Q: Is “Chaos Theory” Kate’s daughter?
A: CT has no mum, but two dads instead. Because this is the future it’s not considered strange, so she doesn’t have a reality show as she probably would in 2019.
Q: Is the Ashes art testing for clarity when black and white printing?
A: It will be at least as good as FFG’s cards, better in places.
Edit: more questions came in over Facebook, but it didn’t tell me about them! So we have 3 more questions, another one of them is also sensible…
Q. But why male models?
A: Are you… are you serious? I just told you that…
Q: Inquiring minds want to know what your favorite cyberpunk-themed dish/snack to eat while playing Netrunner is
A: Burgers made from artificial meat, followed by 3D printed chocolate nanotubes.

A: Expect an update from the MWL team in the coming weeks. Following that, updates will be locked into a quarterly schedule which will be announced shortly.
