Congratulations to charliedmcb, our 2023 Asia-Pacific Continental Champion! They managed to overcome 93 other players, reaching the finals from the losers’ side of the bracket by winning five games in a row! The final game saw winners’ bracket finalist Jai making an exciting deep dig on R&D on the final turn, then pivoting to a well defended HQ to try to snipe a winning agenda. However, they were unsuccessful, allowing charliedmcb to win the game the following turn with an audacious play, scoring a 3/2 Agenda from hand.
We’d also like to congratulate our first set of invitees for the Intercontinental Championship, which will be held online on the 2nd September: charliedmcb, Jai, KyraWNY, and MrStyx. A huge thank you to everybody who logged on to brave a brand new format with The Automata Initiative and made APAC Continentals another exceptional online event.
Thank you also to everybody who joined us on stream for our first look at The Automata Initiative, which has certainly had an impact on the meta, with three of the new identities making deep runs into the tournament. We’re excited to see how people adjust to these new cards when we visit Mox Boarding House for our American Continental Championship next weekend.
