Run Together – Closing Soon!

Howdy, folks. It’s Slapdash here with another guest post about Run Together. First, the big news:

In two weeks (on July 15th), we’ll be closing the application form to get funding from Run Together to attend the 2025 World Championship. We really need to get rolling on making allocation decisions, so we wanted to be clear about when submissions close so we don’t have to try to hit a moving target.

I also want to be transparent that we’ve raised a lot less money this year than we did last year, and we’ve received more applications for aid. If you want to help raise the needed funds, you can still make purchases at the links below. However, it takes time for funds from purchases to reach the bank account we can pay folks out of, so last-minute purchases may not land in time for our allocation decisions. If you would like to ensure that your purchase can contribute to this year’s Run Together fund, we recommend purchasing this week.

If enough money comes in “late”, we may be able to do a second round of allocations before Worlds, but it kind of depends on how much we get. If nothing else, any money we raise “late” can roll over into next year’s fund.

It’s hard to know exactly what lesson to take from how this year has gone. A lot of factors changed all at once, so there’s not much the scientific method can offer us. However, I’m thinking about how things might be able to change for next year, and one of those things is that we’re going to need to bring on some more folks to the Run Together logistics team. If you want to help out, pop into the #run-together channel in the Green Level Clearance discord and let me know. You can also keep up with the details of the project in more depth there.
