Longtime NISEI team member and former Rules Manager Jade Wesley has left NISEI.
The NISEI Board removed Jade from their leadership positions on the Board and as Rules Manager slightly over a week ago. An action like this is not something we do lightly. Indeed, careful steps were taken to ensure due diligence. Out of respect for the privacy of those involved, we will be keeping the reason for this decision, and the details of the process, confidential.
The Board offered Jade an opportunity to continue working within NISEI on the Design team. Jade declined, and has therefore departed the organization.
We wish to recognize and thank Jade for their contributions to the Netrunner community. As contributor to the ANCUR project and, later, NISEI Rules Manager, Jade helped codify the comprehensive rules of the game. Jade was also instrumental in the foundation of NISEI, as the Acting President who formed the original selection committee. We appreciate their contributions and wish Jade the best.
This change in leadership also comes at a time of internal reorganization for NISEI. We are beginning to restructure the organization, with an eye to improving our collaboration, decreasing bottlenecks, and creating a more sustainable environment for everyone on our team. We’ll share more details about this in the future. As we restructure, the Rules Manager position will be filled in the interim by Jamie Perconti, who will be reporting to Lead Designer June Cuervo and will not join the NISEI Board.
Jamie brings years of experience to their new Rules Manager role, both on the NISEI Rules team as Assistant Rules Manager, and, before NISEI, as another ANCUR contributor. You may recognize their friendly rules voice from explanatory posts like this one about Comprehensive Rules 1.5. We’d like to warmly welcome Jamie to the role.
