Vantage Point is the next expansion compatible with Netrunner from Null Signal Games. It is designed to build on the new foundation for the Standard format created by Elevation, expanding the tools available to players and introducing new strategies as well as providing support for existing archetypes. Vantage Point is a standalone rotating set, not part of a cycle, casting an observant eye over the many settings and characters that bring Netrunner to life.
The cards of Vantage Point take us back to areas of the Netrunner world that previous NSG sets have visited – from the icy mysteries of the Arctic to the riotous conflict of Brazil to the ever-bustling megacity Kota Kalimantan – with a special focus on the lofty setting of Luna.
System Gateway is the NSG product that every player is familiar with, and while its Lunar setting helped establish the feeling of the cards, we felt like there was still some creative regolith left to mine. From the Moon’s surface, Vantage Point looks down on the world Netrunner players have become familiar with from a new angle, showing us moments, events, snapshots in the lives of characters new and returning – while also providing some unexpected perspectives on life in Luna itself.
Vantage Point is unlike any other set that we’ve made. It was first concepted at the beginning of the year, as Elevation took on its final shape. We identified that our original plan for the sets that followed Elevation and the associated Standard rotation would leave significant gaps in the Standard card pool for longer than we were comfortable with.
Our Studio Teams worked together to come up with a plan for ensuring that our most played format was robust, while setting up our future sets for success. Vantage Point is an opportunity to take a bird’s eye view of the card pool post-rotation and flesh out our world’s mechanics and archetypes, while reenergizing some fan favorite strategies.
We are currently targeting a release period of Q1 2026 for this new set. Design, development, playtesting, art, card names, flavour text and templating for Vantage Point are all complete and we are just adding the finishing touches to the set before putting it through internal QA and sending it to be printed.
As we’re still finishing up the last few steps of completing the set, we want to ensure there are no issues with those processes before announcing the final release date. We will publish another article in November containing an exact release date and some more teasers about what players can expect from Vantage Point.
From this new Vantage Point, the future of Netrunner is bright! We can’t wait for you to experience it when it releases in Q1 2026.
