While we are still recruiting for the roles from our June recruitment article, we wanted to highlight the important role that playtesters play in making sure that Netrunner cards are made as fun and interesting as they can be by testing the ideas for new cards. As part of this, we are putting out the call for new playtesters to join the playtesting group!
If you are reading this far in the future, please check out our recruitment portal for the latest information on all of our positions.
Product Playtester
Playtesters are the first people to interact with the new cards that the Design and Development teams create. It will be your job as a playtester to test the new cards as much as possible and offer feedback on the impact new cards have on your games. Both creative deckbuilders and people who just enjoy getting lists from other people and putting them through their paces are encouraged to become playtesters, to ensure that cards are well tested before they are finalised and printed in the newest Netrunner sets! This is not a formal role with Null Signal Games, but you will still communicate with the playtest department to provide your feedback on how the cards feel to play.
Applications will stay open for two weeks.
Duties
- Playtest upcoming in-production netrunner card sets.
- Provide feedback on test games and experiences with cards.
- Keep confidentiality around any unreleased cards.
- Learn and employ principles for good qualitative feedback.
Current/Upcoming Projects
- Playtesting for currently unreleased NSG Netrunner sets.
Must-have skills
- Detail-oriented nature.
- A good understanding of Netrunner and how it is played (casually or competitively).
- Ability to compare and judge cards based on existing benchmarks/meta strategies.
Workload
It is expected that playtesters are able to commit a minimum of 2 hours a week on playtesting sets and providing feedback on those games. As it is all online and done in your own time, there is no need to be available for meetings, although the Development team will host meetings occasionally for you to give direct feedback.
